Is the annual calibration of your biomedical test equipment up to date?

March 11, 2021/in News /by Paul Bryant

We have over 20 years of experience in the field of Biomedical Engineering, mainly in the Private and Public Healthcare sectors. With in-house experience and OEM backing to carry out traceable calibration of your biomedical test equipment to the highest standard.

Including:

  • All products from Datrend Systems Inc. (factory trained and certified)
  • All products from Pronk Technologies (factory trained and certified)
  • All products from Clinical Dynamics, Fermitron IMT Analytics and Netech (either in-house or OEM / 3rd party calibration)

So, what is calibration?

Calibration is a comparison between a known measurement (the standard) and the measurement using your instrument. Typically, the accuracy of the standard should be ten times the accuracy of the measuring device being tested. However, an accuracy ratio of 3:1 is acceptable by most standards organizations.

Your Biomedical Test Equipment should be calibrated according to the manufacturer’s recommendations. All our manufacturers recommend annual calibration or after any mechanical or electrical shock.

The hidden costs and risks associated with an un-calibrated measuring device could be much higher than the cost of calibration. It is therefore recommended that your equipment is calibrated regularly by a reputable company to ensure that errors associated with the measurements are in the acceptable range.

How to get your biomedical test equipment calibrated

Feel free to send your unit to us at the following address for an inspection and quotation:

Chivaune Technologies
Attn: Service Dept.
Level 5, Suite 12, Room 6

Alternatively, if you prefer a quotation prior to sending in the unit just email us at admin@chivaune.com.au with the equipment details and we will get straight back to you.

Once your equipment is in our system, each year you will receive an email from us prior to the date that your equipment is next due for calibration.

Turn around times? We aim to have your equipment completed and shipped within 5 days of receiving an official purchase order / go ahead.

If, for some reason, your equipment requires repair and will be out of service for an extended period of time, we have loan units that can be provided at no cost (subject to availability).
